Windows Store to provide 70/30% revenue share, 5 PC user license
At the BUILD 2011 conference , Microsoft has been unusually reluctant to confirm details of the revenue share in the application store in Windows 8 known as the Windows Store. Thankfully their developer documentation is far more helpful to confirm the industry-standard 70/30 split

My first WP7 app: Speedo Plus
Since spending quite a bit of time on the roads last week, I was desperate for an aesthetically pleasing speedometer app for Windows Phone 7. After sampling the Marketplace, I realized sometimes you just have to get down and dirty to make an app just the way you want. Having read, written about and evangelized the WP7 development ecosystem for a while now, it’s always good to walk the walk.

MIX11: Windows Phone 7 app wall
Microsoft took the liberty at MIX11 conference today to honor the work of Windows Phone 7 application developers today with an “app wall”, or to be more precise three walls, to showcase the number of applications in the Marketplace. Undeniably inspired by Apple’s App Wall from WWDC 2009 , Microsoft covered three walls of a cubicle (although it might be hiding a surprise for tomorrow) next to the Windows Phone booth in the “Commons” exhibition hall with a print of thousands of icons from apps on the Marketplace. Obviously a static image is not nearly as cool as an interactive visualization that animates when someone actually purchases an application, developers were visibly just as much excited spotting their own application

My thoughts on “My thoughts on ChevronWP7″
I would be lying if I said I didn’t think some people would get the wrong idea about ChevronWP7 , which is why we went into great lengths to emphasis it is just an unlocking tool and even outlined our position on application piracy . What I didn’t think is that people would actually accuse us of advocating piracy itself. One post in particular, “My Thoughts On ‘ChevronWP7′” by Michael B

ChevronWP7: Windows Phone 7 unlocker released
After many long hours of Skype banter over the past week, we’ve finally opened Pandora’s box. Today, together with Rafael Rivera and Chris Walsh , we’re releasing an elegantly simple tool to allow any user to unlock any retail Windows Phone 7 device for application side-loading (without having a WP7 marketplace registration account which costs US$99/year). You can find the download and keep track of any further homebrew developments on the official ChevronWP7 group blog .
