How do i share Microsoft office software with another computer in my house without a CD Drive?
Question by Chris S: How do i share Microsoft office software with another computer in my house without a CD Drive?
My main computer has a copy of microsoft Office 2003. I am wanting to copy this piece of software to a netbook i have in a sperate room. This netbook does not have a CD Drive so am unable to install the software directly onto it.
Am i able to copy and paste the entire folder onto a External HDD and then load it up that way?

You could copy the install files, or make an ISO of the install CD and use it as virtual drive on the netbook.

Q&A: My Dell insprion N5010 windows 7 Starup repair takes more than an hour? HELP?!?!?
Question by Ashley: My Dell insprion N5010 windows 7 Starup repair takes more than an hour? HELP?!?!?
ok i haven’t had this laptop of r even a month yet and i know its not a virus im sure of it… when i turn it on it says start windows normally or windows start up repair so i click the start windows normally but restarts and comes up again then i do start up repair which takes me to a black screen for 2-3 minutes then to a blue screen that has a Grey box that says start up repair is checking ur system for updates:
if problems found, start up repair will fix them automatically. your computer might restart several times during this process.
No changes will be made to your personal files or information. This might take several minutes…. then under is this bar of something loading is says attempting repairs under that says repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete….
The thing is i can leave it for more than 5 hours and it does nothing… it just stays like that… and i need to use my lap top asap i don’t have the order number and i called dell so they couldn’t help… i have the dell drivers and utilities cd rom and the Microsoft works 9
One day i left it on for like 7-8 hours with the laptop being charged to see if the start up repair will go away and the laptop was really HOT but yeah then i turned it off for like 5 hours nd turned it back on same thing….
i tried doing F12 safe mode but still goes back to the same place as it restarts and idk wat to do… PLEASE HELP!

This may differ from pc to pc. Start the computer and click startup repair. If you can try to get CMD (Command Prompt) and type in chkdsk /r and restart. That should check the disc for Bad Sectors and alert you. If there is a problem you may need to replace the Hard Drive. Do not start a scan if a thunderstorm is expected and you are subject to power failures. I also strongly advise an uninterruptible power supply to guard against short-term power outages or fluctuations.
Hope This Helps

Skype hiring both C# and HTML5 devs for Windows 8 Metro app
It looks like if you can’t make your mind up about building a Windows 8 Metro-style application using either C# or HTML5, Skype seems to think you should just hire to build for both and let them fight it out. In either case, Skype seems to be readying a Windows 8 app for launch day.

Channel9′s Visual Studio Achievements now available
A couple of years ago I approached Rafael Rivera with an idea – bringing XBOX Live-style achievements to the Windows platform. There could be achievements for Windows itself – learning keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+ESC for task manager or even BSOD misfortunes.

Windows 7 – Change Desktop Background
Windows 7 tips and tricks on ways to choose a new desktop background. How to deal with desktop background or wallpaper size is also mentioned here. Music by Kevin MacLeod

Today around at 1:30 PM… I ordered Windows 7 Professional 32-Bit from Microsoft Students since I have a college email considering I’m going to college in a few months. But with Windows 7 Professional upgrade is a good upgrade from the last operating system I had on my HP desktop which was Windows Vista Home Basic. I do a clean install to Windows 7 Professional so the old stuff of Windows Vista was deleted for good. I also show you most of the features of Windows 7 Professional but you may know most of it such as the encryption and the Windows XP Mode. But at least now my desktop now have less problems that I suffered from Vista and now with Windows 7… It becomes a resolve of most problems.

Behind the Microsoft CES 2012 video wall
Like Moore’s law, there should also be a law that determines the rate at which display screens at trade shows grow. For it’s last year at the Consumer Electronics Show, Microsoft flaunted a video wall at its booth that stretched a respectable 70 feet (21 meters) long. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to power such a system, you’re in luck
