CBT Planet Set to Release New Training Courses for Microsoft Windows 7
Miami, FL (Vocus) March 9, 2010
CBT Planet is gearing up to release five new courses on Windows 7. These Microsoft Windows 7 training courses cover Windows 7 desktop, transitioning from Windows XP to Windows 7, installation and configuration, preparing to become an Enterprise Desktop Support Technician, and planning and managing Windows 7 deployments from a technical perspective. As with many of CBT Planetâs training courses, these courses are designed for IT professionals seeking technical and professional Microsoft certifications.
For example, the certifications covered by the new releases include: MCTS: Windows 7 â Configuration which requires successfully passing Microsoftâs 70-680 exam; MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 certification which requires passing two exams, 70-680 and 70-685; and MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification which requires passing the 70-680 and 70-686 exams. According to CBT Planet spokesman, John Paul Fernandez, âEach of the new Microsoft Windows 7 training courses allows Microsoft exam candidates to prepare for their certification exams from the convenience of their own homes or businesses.â Fernandez explained that the courses incorporate a collection of Microsoft Windows 7 training videos led by certified instructors. âThis allows students to receive instructor-led training at their convenience.â
Issued on a Windows 7 training DVD, the courses provide trainees with instant access to video lessons and hands-on labs. âThe videos bring the material to life,â Fernandez said. âThe tasks are much easier to understand when you see them performed on your computer than when you read about them in a book.â
When asked why issue Microsoft Windows 7 training courses focused on IT certifications, Fernandez explained that not only did Microsoft update its operating system with the release of Windows 7 last year, it also updated its certification program. With organizations moving from Windows XP and Vista to Windows 7, the need for IT professionals with Windows 7 skills is growing. Through certification, IT professionals can prove to employers that they have the skills necessary to plan, install, configure, manage, and support Windows 7 desktops.
CBT Planetâs Microsoft Windows 7 training videos take advantage of computer based training technology, allowing IT professionals to learn by seeing, hearing, and doing. The titles set to be released include:
Windows 7 Desktop
Updating Your Technology Knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP to Windows 7
Installing and Configuring Windows 7 Client

I was lucky enough to be picked as a Windows 7 party host. I knew it came with a free copy of Windows 7 — but, I didn’t know they’d go this far in promoting their product. All via word of mouth, mind you.
So what’s the most awesome thing about Windows 7? All that LSD inspired artwork! It’s everywhere!
Thank you, Microsoft. You finally did a good one in my book. It’s too bad every copy comes packed like this.
Windows 8′s user account roaming feature revealed
Thanks to some random pokings by curious enthusiasts on the MyDigitalLife forums , the user account roaming options in the early builds of Windows 8 has been exposed, shedding some light on what it enables. The feature, which appears to be only available for “Linked” Windows accounts (presumably to Windows Live), allows for users to “roam” to different computers and devices (*cough* Windows Phone) with their various settings and configurations, automagically applied

RC4 Wireless Introduces Motion Products at USITT Stage Expo 2006

xml:lang=”en” lang=”en” xmlns=”http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml”>
RC4 Wireless Introduces Motion Products at USITT Stage Expo 2006
Buffalo, NY (PRWEB) March 17, 2006 â-
RC4 Wireless has introduced a new series of RC4 receivers with built-in motor controllers. Intended for motorized props and set pieces of all kinds, they are described as safe, simple to connect, and easy to use.
The RX4-FD friction-drive controller directly connects to two DC motors and responds to RC4 Wireless control channels for speed, steer, and direction. Simply place a DC drive on each side of the piece, much like an electric wheelchair. Steering all the way to either extreme will spin the piece on center. Outputs are also provided for optional brakes. All drivers are protected against overheating and overloading, and operate from 8V to 30VDC.
The RX4-SERVO controller drives one DC motor and optional brake, and includes two limit-switch inputs and a rotary-encoder input. Using the encoder for feedback, the controller positions the target machine or system at any desired location. A single (8-bit) or double (16-bit) RC4 Wireless control channel sets position. The user can set acceleration rate, deceleration rate, top speed, and the size of the stopping window to match controller response to the target machine. Limit switch inputs can be configured to set ends of travel, stop the unit, or reverse direction.
Both the FD and the SERVO controllers utilize the RC4-MSS Motion Safety System, ensuring that any fault anywhere in the control circuit will stop the remote unit.
âThese motor drivers, together with our very robust safety system, provide the level of reliability and redundancy required for critical motion systems on stage,â claims James Smith, the RC4 system designer. âThe FD is ideal for the sleigh in The Nutcracker, the chicken in Into the Woods, and any other large or small device that must drive around or across the stage by remote control. The SERVO is ideal for smoothly and automatically positioning pieces along a slot, truss, or other guide. All with no data or power wires!â
The RC4-MSS, which uses a precise heartbeat to detect and respond to any kind of system interference, is already in use in Shaw Festivalâs 2006 production of High Society. âIn the most general sense, we have tackled two design challenges,â explains Smith. âFirst, the radio link must be absolutely reliable â it canât go down. Then, the safety system must detect and intervene if the radio system does go down. In most cases, intervention means automatically cutting power to the motors and engaging the brakes. Our core RC4 radios, fine-tuned over a decade, meet the first challenge. Our MSS meets the second. Our motor controllers make it easy to implement both in a wide range of applications.â
The final piece of the puzzle is the RC4-HH, a âblankâ handheld controller. Housed in a small NEMA4X enclosure, the HH contains both an MSS sender (a component of the safety system) and a buffered control-voltage (CV) input board with screw terminal connections. The user can easily mount any combination of knobs, sliders, selectors, or switches on the top face and wire them to the terminals. The HH connects to the RC4 transmitter via the CV input.
The RC4-TX32D provides 8 channels of CV, while the RC4-FlexTX provides 12 channels of CV, in addition to DMX channels. Any combination of CV and DMX can be mapped to dimmers and controllers throughout a show. Thus, an operator or automation system can be controlling motors, while the DMX desk is controlling lighting on the very same set piece. Everything is integrated into one easy-to-use and highly versatile package.
